About Us
Named after the Patron Saint of musicians, Santa Cecilia Café & Salon is a musical oasis in the heart of Shanghai. It is located in the former French Concession district, Fenyang Road - next to the Shanghai Conservatory, a well known hang-out for classical musicians and music lovers.
Though the two owners of the café are from very different backgrounds, it was through their mutual love of classical music that brought them together. It was through classical that inspired them to create 'Santa Cecilia'. Their story reflects the cosmopolitan spirit of Shanghai!
The café is nestled in a newly renovated 1930s lane house of typical old Shanghai. The interior design is strongly influenced by the owner's musical family background and years of living in Europe. Here one can feel music in every corner, as each floor is ornamented with European musical artefacts, rare collector's music scores and posters. Charming and elegant!
The vision of the owners is not just another ordinary coffee shop, but a music café, a culture café… A cosy atmosphere with no bounds, where one can be lost in one's own thoughts or where one can be engaged in hot conversations with friends and strangers alike…
Original Austrian coffee is served - from the house of Julius Meinl with 150 years of coffee making heritage, and do not miss the chance to taste the most delicious home-made sweet delights prepared by 5-star patisserie!
